ROAS
ACoS = 100 ÷ ROAS. ROAS = 100 ÷ ACoS.What the numbers mean
ACoS is ad spend divided by attributed sales, shown as a percentage. ROAS is attributed sales divided by ad spend. A 35% ACoS equals about 2.86× ROAS; a 4× ROAS equals 25% ACoS.
Calculate your break-even ACoS
Use your price and pre-ad costs to find the point where advertising uses all remaining contribution.

Break-even ACoS

- Contribution before ads / unit
- —
How the calculation works
Break-even ACoS = (selling price − pre-ad costs) ÷ selling price × 100. Break-even ROAS is selling price divided by the contribution before advertising.
For example, a $30 selling price and $19.50 in pre-ad costs leave $10.50, or 35%, for advertising. That corresponds to about 2.86× ROAS. Spending the full contribution leaves no contribution profit for that unit.
This is a simplified per-unit model. Fixed overhead, tax, returns, multi-unit orders and differences in attributed revenue can change your actual profitability. Include the relevant costs for your business. A profit target requires an ACoS below break-even.
